Eduardo Ramos Palomo

DevOps Infra Engineer at NN Digital Hub

“The best part of my work is knowing something I’ve built can save time for people I’ve never met.”

From tinkering with computers as a five-year-old to helping international teams work smarter, Eduardo Ramos Palomo (37) has always been driven by curiosity and a desire to be useful. Now a DevOps Infra Engineer at NN’s Digital Hub, he’s found a workplace that lets him turn that mindset into a role with meaningful impact every day.

Passion for technology
Eduardo’s journey into tech started when his father brought home a computer. “I was just a kid, but I was already breaking things to see how they worked and putting them back together,” he recalls. This curiosity grew into a career after studying computer science and joining his first company, isEazy, where he stayed for 12 years.

Starting as a developer, Eduardo steadily rose through the ranks to manage the very department he began in. “I changed how we did deployments, restructured processes—it was a great learning ground. But after a while, I’d done everything I could there. I wanted something more international, something new.”

A fresh perspective at NN
That search brought him to NN. “I thought a big multinational would be rigid, maybe even closed off,” he admits. “But I was wrong. At NN, the structure is incredibly open. You can join meetings across teams, pitch your ideas, and be part of conversations far beyond your immediate role.”

The culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing quickly became one of the things Eduardo valued most. “At NN, you’re encouraged to step out of your silo. You’re not just allowed to contribute—you’re expected to. That’s how we all move forward.”

Designing solutions with impact
Eduardo sees his role as more than just building infrastructure. “I see myself as a facilitator,” he explains. “Yes, I deploy services and work on cloud environments, but my focus is making systems more efficient for everyone.”

That mindset was at the heart of a project he’s particularly proud of. Assigned to build a deployment module for a team in Hungary, Eduardo made a bold choice. “I could have delivered something specific and fast. But I asked myself—what if I build this in a way that makes it reusable across NN?”

It took more time and effort, but the result was worth it. “Now, other business units are using that same module. And occasionally, someone I’ve never worked with reaches out to say they’ve picked it up. That’s the best part—knowing your work is helping someone else succeed.”

Learning and growing every day
For Eduardo, staying relevant in a fast-changing field is the biggest challenge and one he enjoys most. “Tech is always evolving: AI, machine learning, new frameworks. You have to keep learning or risk falling behind.”

His current work includes helping Hungary launch new components and deploying the infrastructure for machine learning operations (MLOps) in an NN International Data team. “It’s complex, but NN gives you the space to figure things out. There’s no pressure to rush or cut corners. Quality and sustainability come first.”

A Digital Hub that feels like home
Eduardo works across teams inHungary, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic , but thanks to NN’s Digital Hub, it still feels like one cohesive unit. “We’re not external consultants parachuted into teams,” he explains. “We’re NN employees, and we try to stay connected. We have daily stand-ups, share progress and support each other, no matter where we’re based.”

That community spirit has led to unexpected synergies. “Sometimes I’ll mention a challenge in our daily meeting, and someone else says, ‘Hey, I’m working on something similar.’ Those moments are golden, leading to shared solutions and better results.”

A culture of trust and autonomy
What sets NN apart, Eduardo says, is the trust it places in its people. “You’re encouraged to improve yourself—not just outside of work, but during it. Want to learn something new? There’s time for that. Want to suggest a better way to do things? You’ll be heard.”

He’s seen that openness firsthand. “We have tools and modules that are built by different teams. You can speak up if you’re using one and have an idea for improving it. Your suggestions are taken seriously. That makes a big difference.”

A career that aligns with his values
Looking back, Eduardo sees a clear connection between the young boy who loved fixing computers and the engineer he is today. “Back then, it was about helping someone whose machine wouldn’t start. Now, I’m helping a team move to production more efficiently. The scale has changed, but the feeling is the same.”

So, what would he say to someone considering a role at NN? “It’s not what you expect from a multinational. It’s dynamic and supportive and gives you space to grow and experiment. If you want to make your work matter to others and yourself, this is the place.”
