Even as a child, Juan Perteguer (35) wanted to do many different things. Curious by nature, he was drawn to creativity and complexity. “I always imagined myself in a space where I could experiment and build,” he says. That vision carried him through a diverse career, from founding startups and working in strategic consultancy to leading multiple business verticals at NN Spain.
Juan joined NN three and a half years ago, excited by the rare opportunity to lead a digital transformation from scratch. “It’s not often that you get to help shape something from the very beginning,” he says. His role spans digital business, customer experience, marketing, and brand—an ambitious scope reflecting his drive and NN’s forward-thinking mindset.
Building for the future
From day one, Juan embraced the growth challenge—not just in numbers, but in people and culture. “I don’t believe in micromanagement,” he says. “I’ve been lucky to work with incredibly talented people, and focus on giving them the space and support to thrive. That’s how we succeed together.”
One of Juan’s proudest achievements is developing a digital self-service app, which now plays a vital role in customer interaction and business generation. But the journey was much more than launching a product. It meant rebuilding entire systems, rethinking processes, and navigating legal and operational complexities. “That project helped me understand the organisation at every level,” he says. “It was a turning point for all of us.”
Creativity with impact
Juan brings an entrepreneurial spirit to corporate innovation. One standout initiative involved offering a free accident insurance product to engage potential mortgage clients. “It was simple, effective and impactful,” he explains. “It cost us less than a euro per client, but the return in cross-selling and customer loyalty was enormous. These are the creative strategies I love developing.”
For Juan, making work matter is about impact; from helping NN grow in a competitive digital landscape to building a brand people trust. “If no one knows who we are, no one will want to work here or buy from us,” he says. “A brand is not a logo—it’s people’s feeling about us. That’s why it matters.”
