Ana Moreno López

Digital Product Owner at NN Spain

“You decide how far you want to go, and NN gives you the tools to get there.”

From developer to digital leader: Ana on owning her path at NN
Ana Moreno López didn’t set out with a grand career plan. But she had curiosity, a creative spark, and a love for building things. That combination led her to study Information Technology and begin her career as a front-end developer—first at two other companies and then, in 2013, as an external developer for NN Spain. “I liked programming because it felt creative and logical at the same time,” she says. “You’re building solutions that people use. It’s never boring.”

Her first project with NN was to help develop the private client web portal. After four years working externally, Ana was invited to join full-time—and she didn’t hesitate. “By then, I already knew what NN was about. I appreciated the openness and how people supported each other. There’s real trust here,” she says.

Customer-centric innovation
Joining NN marked a turning point in Ana’s professional journey. As a software engineer, she expanded her technical skills and deepened her understanding of the business side. “I realised technology isn’t just about building systems. It’s about solving real problems for clients,” she explains.

Now, as a Digital Product Owner, Ana is leading some of NN Spain’s most critical digital projects, including the launch of the company’s first mobile app. “It didn’t exist before,” she says. “We created it from scratch. Today, mobile is how people interact with services. It was essential for us to be there.” Moving into this leadership role was exciting and challenging for Ana. “I’m still learning every day,” she says. “But I’ve had so much support from colleagues and leaders. It’s made a big difference.”

Pushing herself forward
Looking back, Ana is proud of how she’s embraced the opportunities NN has offered. “I’ve always tried to take advantage of the resources for learning and growth,” she says. “At NN, there’s always something new to explore: new tools, new roles, new ways of thinking. The limits are your own.”

She’s completed certifications in Agile, Scrum, and Product Ownership and is continually expanding her skillset. “The company invests in your growth, but you have to show up and do your part,” she says. “I think that’s fair.”

Creating impact through collaboration
Ana quickly credits her team as a key part of her success. “The environment is very collaborative. We support each other—not just in our team but across departments. Everyone is committed to doing their best,” she says.

Innovation is also part of the team’s DNA. “We’re always looking for better solutions and staying up to date with new technologies,” she says. “That keeps things exciting.”

A people-first culture
For Ana, what sets NN apart is how it values people. “From the beginning, I felt like I belonged,” she says. “The company takes care of its people—there’s respect, flexibility and trust.”

NN’s focus on employee well-being and inclusivity makes it a place where Ana has felt empowered to grow. “Whether it’s volunteering activities, staying active with the San Silvestre Vallecana race, or just being heard in meetings. It all contributes to a feeling that you matter here.”

When asked what she’d say to someone thinking of joining, Ana doesn’t hesitate. “It’s a great place to work. You’ll find the support, the freedom and the challenges to grow. And most importantly—you’ll be surrounded by good people.”
