What you will do:

As a Data Engineer, you’ll become a key player in our dynamic Data team, known for being very eager to learn, thriving for growth and creative solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with not only several local stakeholders, but also our International Business Units. With several exciting global initiatives launching this year, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, helping to shape the future of our practices.

Your day-to-day:

  • Work closely with a talented team of Data Engineers, BI developers and other Tech departments, to solve important and complex challenges for internal teams within Greece and abroad
  • Interpret written business requirements into technical specification documents
  • Analyze source data, understand relationships, hierarchies, groups, trends etc.
  • Understand our Data Warehousing concept and improve it (with a focus on Databricks)
  • Contribute to the Data solutions' architecture and select the right components
  • Implement, enhance and optimize ETL jobs and Data Models, leveraging Databricks for efficient data transformation and loading
  • Document and communicate your findings, as well as, share best practices within the team and stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering or other similar fields
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in Data Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure Data Factory
  • Proficiency in Python/PySpark
  • Extensive knowledge of relational database platforms and T-SQL
  • Familiarity with logical and conceptual data models
  • Experience with leading BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is highly valued
  • Experience in working with large data sets is a plus
  • Experience with Enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, WMS, etc.) and Data Warehouse environments is a plus
  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer certification (or equivalent) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Insurance Industry is also a plus
